Aurus

Aurus is a family of executive and high-end cars, previously known under the designation "Unified modular platform" and the project "Kortezh". The project is being developed by the NAMI Institute since 2013 as a platform for creating vehicles for "the transportation and escort of the first persons of the state, as well as other persons subject to state protection".

The first cars presented to the general public were the Aurus "Senate" cars used at the Russian presidential inauguration on May 7, 2018: the Aurus-4123 sedan and the Aurus-41231SB limousine. The name Aurus was formed from the Latin aurum - "gold" and Russia - "Russia". The chief designer of the project is Vadim Pereverzev, who previously worked for 15 years at FIAT, and previously at GAZ. Yuri Chernenko, chief designer of the Aurus project.
