Astrid Lindgren was a famous Swedish writer known for her works in children's literature, fairy tales, and non-fiction literature for children. She was born on November 14, 1907, in Vimmerby, Sweden, and passed away on January 28, 2002, in Stockholm, Sweden. Lindgren's occupation involved being a screenwriter, novelist, and writer.
Some of her notable works include Pippi Longstocking, Ronia, the Robber's Daughter, The Six Bullerby Children, Karlsson-on-the-Roof, Bill Bergson, The Brothers Lionheart, and Mio, My Son. Her works were written in Swedish and have been translated into more than 85 languages and published in more than 100 countries.
In addition to her career as a writer, Lindgren was known for her appearances on radio and television. She was awarded the Svenska Dagbladet Literature Prize on January 8, 1958.
Astrid Lindgren was married to Sture Landqvist and had two children, Lars Lindgren and Kasper Nymand. She also had a sibling named Gunnar Eriksson.
