Anna I

Anna Ioannovna - the name of this empress is known to many. She was probably one of the most daring rulers in the history of our state. She was born in 1693 and was the daughter of Ivan V, who was for a time the tsar of our state together with Peter the Great. Her uncle had to arrange her private life, eventually finding her a groom. It was the Duke of Courland, and their life together did not work out. The duke died almost after the wedding. She was forced to exist at the expense of the Russian Empire.
