Andrew Davis (born November 21, 1946) is an American director, producer, writer, and cinematographer . He is known for directing action thrillers such as Code of Silence, Above the Law, Under Siege, and The Fugitive . Davis has also worked in various genres like action, adventure, comedy-drama, drama, slasher, crime, thriller, comedy, and science fiction films .
Born in West Chicago, Illinois, Davis is the son of saxophonist Nathan Davis and has a brother named Richard Peter Davis . He attended Bowen High School in Chicago and later studied at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign .
Davis's first release as a director was in 1969 . Throughout his career, he has directed films like Stony Island, The Final Terror, Code of Silence, Above the Law, Under Siege, The Package, Chain Reaction, The Guardian, Steal Big Steal Little, A Perfect Murder, Collateral Damage, and Just Legal .
In addition to his work in the film industry, Davis has been a member of the board of directors of Chain Reaction, The Fugitive, Above the Law, and CPI Aero , as well as serving as the CFO of CPI Aero . He has received accolades including Golden Globe Awards and Directors Guild of America Awards .
