Ali Ghodsi

Ali Ghodsi is the CEO and Co-founder of Databricks, an open and unified platform for data and AI. More than 5,000 organizations worldwide rely on Databricks to enable massive-scale data engineering, collaborative data science, full-lifecycle machine learning, and business analytics.

Ghodsi previously served as the VP of Engineering and Product Management before taking on the role of CEO in 2016. Alongside his work at Databricks, he serves as an adjunct professor in the Computer Science Division at UC Berkley.and serves on the board at UC Berkley's RiseLab.

In addition to Databricks, Ghodsi was one of the creators of an open-source project, Apache Spark, developed at UC Berkley in 2009 by the same team that went on to create Databricks in 2013.

Ali received his MBA from Mid-Sweden University in 2003 and his PhD from KTH/Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden in 2006 in the area of distributed computing.
