From 1873 to 1878 he studied at the Krakow School of Fine Arts in the class of Valery Gadomsky. From 1881 to 1885 he continued his studies at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. Since 1889, at the request of Jaga Matejko, he became professor of sculpture at the Krakow School of Fine Arts. From 1898 he taught at the School of Artistic Crafts.
Among the students of Alfred Jordan were Boleslav Begas, Xavier Dunikovsky, Tadeusz Breer and Jan Schepkovsky.
He died in 1922 and was buried at the Rakovica cemetery in the XIVb quarter.
