Alexander Rapoport is a Russian and American actor, whose main roles in the films The Reader and Nanolove brought him popularity.
Alexander Rapoport is an actor with an amazing but difficult fate. Alexander was born in the Bulgarian city of Kazanlak, in the family of Sima Mikhailovna and Grigory Solomonovich. Alexander's father was an officer at the time of his birth, and then changed professions many times - from a diver and a turner to an actor and a doctor. Sasha was not even a month old when the family left Bulgaria and, after a series of moves, settled in Leningrad.

Rapoport Jr. saw himself on stage from an early age, but his parents did not take this profession seriously. At the insistence of his parents, the young man became a student at a medical institute, where, by the way, his father also entered with his son. During his studies, Alexander joined the institute ensemble, and also participated in amateur theater and played medical basketball. The young man had no interest in the profession of a doctor, and he failed every exam at the first attempt. But when the specialization in psychiatry began in the 4th year, the young man changed and began to study hard.
After the university, Alexander Rapoport was assigned to the district hospital, but the young man achieved a transfer to the famous Moscow clinic named after Kashchenko. His career was going well, but suddenly in 1980 Rapoport was arrested for the fact that Alexander refused to recognize conscripts who were evading military service as unhealthy. The doctor was convicted under a political article for 4 years. After such an attitude, the man left his homeland and walked with his youngest son to Barcelona. There was no money even for the most necessary things, so I had to earn money on the way, including by singing in the streets.

In 1990, Alexander Rapoport came to the USA and at first worked as a taxi driver. Then he returned to medical practice and even sat down at the desk again at the Adelfay University, deepening his knowledge of psychiatry. Now he combines filming with psychotherapy. In addition, Alexander Grigoryevich conducts author's trainings on relationships between people, most often focusing on helping to maintain romantic relationships.
