Alejandro Zaffaroni (February 27, 1923 – March 1, 2014) was a Uruguayan-American businessperson, biochemist, and investor. Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, Zaffaroni held citizenship in both Uruguay and the United States. He pursued his education at the University of the Republic in Uruguay and the University of Rochester in the United States.
Zaffaroni passed away in Atherton, California on March 1, 2014. In recognition of his work and contributions, he was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2012.
