Aerodesign is the modern art of interior and exterior design using balloons. At the moment, this direction in the design of space enjoys well-deserved attention and interest.
History of appearance
The first mention of the decoration of rooms with balloons came to us from the time of the Aztecs. Only "balloons" were made from the insides of animals, inflated with air and decorated with various patterns. The Aztecs used them to decorate halls for sacrifices.
The ancient Roman historian Tacitus in his writings describes painted "balls" that were filled with air. The ancient Romans decorated their banquet halls with them during festive events.
During the Middle Ages, "flying balls" were actively used at carnivals and balls.
In ancient Russia, as Karamzin testifies, all the halls where performances were held in honor of Prince Vladimir the Great were decorated with multi-colored balloons made from bull's entrails.
The first rubber ball was invented by Michael Faraday, a professor at King's University of London in 1824 while experimenting with hydrogen. To do this, he used two sheets of rubber laid on top of each other.
Rubber balls as toys were first presented to the public in 1825. The pioneer in this field was Thomas Hancock, who began selling kits called "Do It Yourself", consisting of a bottle filled with liquid rubber and a syringe. True, only a real specialist, and not a child, could make a ball out of this.
The next stage in the development of aero design is 1847, when George Ingram invented vulcanized balloons, reminiscent of modern balloons. In subsequent years, this type of business developed rapidly in China and America, and only by the beginning of the 90s reached Russia.
In 2000, the first seminar of professional aerodesigners took place in Moscow, and in 2001, the Second International Balloon Festival, during which specialists showed not only their skills and craftsmanship, but also new trends in this field.
