Adolf Engler (born March 25, 1844, in Żagań; died October 10, 1930, in Berlin) was a German botanist who held citizenship in Germany. Engler studied at the University of Wrocław and was the founder of the Berlin-Dahlem Botanical Garden and Botanical Museum. He is considered an important figure in the field of botany and was a responsible mentor to a number of students, most notably doctoral student Friedrich Markgraf.
