Obie iswas an AI platform that integratesintegrated documentation into a single source. The company was founded in September 2015 and iswas based in San Francisco. Obie integratesintegrated with existing knowledge tools and service desks, and givesgave organizations a single place to access documentation and route internal requests.

For customer support and people ops, Obie providesprovided a single source for tracking insights, requests, and data. Obie cancould also standardize sales enablement. Obie suggestssuggested answers to frequently asked questions, and cancould integrate with tools such as Google Drive and ReadMe. It hashad a self-serve ITSM workflow that liveslived entirely in Slack. Obie allowsallowed ticket-routing directly via Slack to improve communication between Jira Service Desk and Slack.

On Jul 29, 2021, it was announced that Obie was acquired by Lessonly Inc. for an undisclosed amount. At this time, Obie was also rebranded to Lessonly Knowledge.

Alexander Sopinka was born and grew up in Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada. He moved to Waterloo, Ontario in 2003 to attend school at the University of Waterloo.

Upon completing a degree in Mathematics in 2008, Alex worked at various software and web development companies in the Toronto, Ontario region. Not satisfied with the work he was doing, Alex began his own company and started attending local entrepreneur events. There he met Chris Buttenham, and the two formed a bond over the need for better management and easier access to knowledge at companies of all sizes.

Together, they founded Obie.ai in 2015 and are currently solving the age-old problem of finding knowledge at work.
