Werner Arber

Werner Arber (born June 3, 1929) is a Swiss physician, biologist, and geneticist. Born in Gränichen, he holds citizenship in Switzerland. Throughout his career, Arber has been based in Switzerland.

Arber studied at the University of Geneva, ETH Zurich, and the University of Basel. One of his notable doctoral students was Daisy Roulland-Dussoix.

In 1978, Arber was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. The esteemed scientist has made significant contributions to the fields of biology, genetics, and medicine throughout his career.
