Vasily Radlov was an anthropologist and explorer born on May 1, 1837, in Berlin. He held citizenship in the Kingdom of Prussia, the Russian Empire, the Russian Republic, and the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. Radlov was educated at Humboldt University of Berlin.
