Siegfried Sassoon

Siegfried Sassoon (born September 8, 1886, in Matfield; died September 1, 1967, in Heytesbury) was a British writer, military personnel, and poet. He held citizenship in both the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and the United Kingdom . Sassoon was educated at various institutions, including the University of Cambridge, Marlborough College, Clare College, Cambridge, and New Beacon School.

Sassoon's main genre of writing was poetry. He was the son of Theresa Thornycroft and had a child named George Sassoon. Among his notable works is the novel "Memoirs of a Fox-Hunting Man".
