Brighton & Hove Albion F.C.

Brighton born and educated, Robert saw his first game in 1964 and as a child, his Albion heroes were Bobby Smith, Jimmy Collins and Kit Napier.

He started his working life with the Inland Revenue (HMRC) and became a tax inspector, before leaving for private practice in 1989. In 1994, he formed his own accountancy practice, CCI, with two friends. He has been married to Pauline for 38 years and has two adult children. The whole family are Brighton fans.

He was appointed company secretary in 2003 and joined the Albion board in 2006.

His best Brighton moment is the opening of the Amex and promotion to the Premier League, while the worst is standing at the old Millwall ground for an Easter fixture in the old Third Division, which he identifies as a very scary experience!

His best achievement as a director was negotiating a deal with HMRC to keep them at bay, before subsequently obtaining a tax refund on the sale of the Goldstone some 10 years later.
