Rekonq was a QtWebKit-based web browser developed inside the software project KDE. It was the default web browser of Chakra GNU/Linux and was formerly of Kubuntu (between versions 10.10 and 13.10). Rekonq was included in KDE Extragear on the 25th of May 2010.
Some of Rekonq's features included tabbed browsing, loading address bar, ad blocker, support for plugins (Flash, Java), and proxy support. The web browser used the WebKit HTML rendering engine provided in QtWebKit. It could integrate into the KDE desktop—downloading files via KDE download system, sharing bookmarks with Konqueror, KIO support, etc.
Rekonq's code is developed on KDE Projects' Git repository and was initially based on Qt Development Frameworks' QtDemoBrowser. As of January 2014, there has been no further development of the browser without manpower or sponsorship to restart development.
