Peter was the son of Heinrich Parler, and he had two children: Johann Parler and Wenzel Parler. Parler carried on the family tradition and his son Wenzel followed in his footsteps and became an architect.

He died in Prague on July 13, 1399. Parler's architectural legacy remains influential, and his works in Prague are considered some of the most important structures in the city.
