Peter Parler (1330-1399) was a German architect and general contractor. He was born in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany, and held German citizenship. Parler is best known for his work on the St. Vitus Cathedral and the Charles Bridge.
Peter was the son of Heinrich Parler, and he had two children: Johann Parler and Wenzel Parler. Parler carried on the family tradition and his son Wenzel followed in his footsteps and became an architect.
He died in Prague on July 13, 1399. Parler's architectural legacy remains influential, and his works in Prague are considered some of the most important structures in the city.
