Norman Jewison

Norman Jewison, born Norman Frederick Jewison on July 21, 1926, is a Canadian citizen known for his work as a screenwriter, film director, film producer, and actor. He was born in Toronto, Canada and began his career in the entertainment industry with his first release in 1950. Jewison is known for directing numerous feature films, with his latest release in 2003. He was educated at the University of Toronto and Victoria College.

Throughout his career, Jewison has received many awards, including a BAFTA Award, Academy Awards, British Academy Film Awards, and Golden Globe Awards. He has also been awarded at the Berlin International Film Festival, Moscow International Film Festival, New York Film Critics Circle Awards, and Directors Guild of America Awards.

In addition to his achievements within the film industry, Jewison has been recognized for his services during the Second World War, with the Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, and Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. He is also a recipient of the Order of Canada, Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal, and the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada Medal.
