NordVPN is a virtual private network (VPN) service provider. It provides desktop applications for Windows, macOS and Linux, mobile applications for Android and iOS, and an AndroidTV application. Manual configuration of wireless routers, NAS devices, and other platforms is also available.
NordVPN is based in Panama, as there are no mandatory data retention laws in the country, and it is not a member of the Five Eyes or Fourteen Eyes alliances.
History
NordVPN was founded in 2012 by 4 childhood friends, as stated on the website. In 2016 they launched an app, in 2017 a google chrome extension, and in 2018 an AndroidTV app. As of 2019, Nord owned over 5,200 servers in 62 countries
