Nicholas of Cusa (1401-1464) was a German mathematician, astronomer, diplomat, philosopher, writer, Christian minister, cardinal of the Catholic Church, jurist, and politician. Born in Bernkastel-Kues, he held citizenship in Germany. He studied at the University of Padua, University of Cologne, and Heidelberg University. Nicholas of Cusa is the author of "De Docta Ignorantia". He passed away in Todi on August 11, 1464.
