Nelly Sachs

Nelly Sachs (born December 10, 1891 in Schöneberg) was a German-Swedish poet, playwright, and writer. She initially gained citizenship in Germany, but later acquired Swedish citizenship as well. Nelly Sachs passed away in Stockholm on May 12, 1970.

In 1966, Nelly Sachs was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for her outstanding contributions to the world of literature. Her work primarily focused on themes related to her experiences as a German Jew during the Holocaust, and she utilized poetry and drama as vehicles for her creative expression.
