Marcel Smits is the Chairman of Cargill's Asia Pacific region and Head of Corporate Strategy. He was Cargill’s Chief Financial Officer from 2013 until 2018 and is a member of Cargill’s Board of Directors. Prior to joining Cargill, he was CEO of Sara Lee from 2011 to 2013 He holds an MBA and a Master's degree in Tax Law from the University of Amsterdam. He is married to Venezuelan lawyer Virginia Perez and has three children, Conrad, Eric and Ralph.
