Kenenisa Bekele

Kenenisa Bekele is an Ethiopian athletics competitor known for being a long-distance runner . He was born on June 13, 1982, in Bekoji, Ethiopia and holds Ethiopian citizenship . Bekele's partner is Danawit Gebregziabher , and his sibling is Tariku Bekele .

Throughout his career, Bekele has received various awards, including IAAF World Athlete of the Year in 2004 and 2005 , Track & Field News Athlete of the Year in the same years , and Ethiopian Person of the Year in 2007/2008 . He has won gold medals in multiple international competitions such as the Olympic Games in 2004 Athens 10,000 m , World Championships in 2003 Paris 10,000 m , World Indoor Championships in 2006 Moscow 3000 m , African Championships in 2006 Bambous 5000 m , and All-Africa Games in 2003 Abuja 5000 m . Additionally, Bekele secured a gold medal in the World Cross Country Championships in 2002 Dublin Long race and the World Marathon Majors in 2016 Berlin Marathon .
