Keith Edward Ilam (English. Keith Edward Elam; July 17, 1961 - April 19, 2010), a better known under his stage pseudonym Guru, American MC and a member of Hip-Hop Duet Gang Starr, along with Dj Premier. The name of the Guru is a bisconim from Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal, can also be decrypted as God Is Universal; He is the Ruler Universal.

Keith Edward was born in the Roxbury district of Boston, Massachusetts. His father, Harry, was a judge, mother, Barbara, was one of the directors of libraries in the Boston State School System. Ilam graduated from a college in business administration to Morka in Atlanta and studied at Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan. Later he threw his studies to continue the career of a rap artist.

Also, the Guru entered the organization known as the people of gods and lands.
