The plant was founded in 1941 on the basis of the evacuated Leningrad plant named after M.I. Kalinin. Leningrad workers were the main nucleus around which the labor collective was formed, which revived the plant at the new location. During the Great Patriotic War, just like the rest of the country's industry, the plant worked for the needs of the front.
In the first decades of the postwar period, the plant produces mainly agricultural engineering products. In the 60's the plant staff mastered the production of products, which marked the beginning of the development of a new direction in the plant based on radioelectronics, optics and heat engineering. For labor services in 1981 the plant was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
At present Federal State Enterprise "Kazan Precision Engineering Plant" is a highly equipped enterprise with necessary premises, universal technological equipment, qualified personnel, vast experience in mastering and adjustment of serial production of complex science-intensive products manufactured in the interests of the Russian Federation Ministry of Defense and other security agencies.
The plant has the necessary buildings and constructions, as well as the equipment providing:
- manufacturing of metal parts by turning, cold forming, pressure moulding, pressing;
- applying various types of protective and decorative coatings;
- manufacturing of cutting and measuring tools, punches and press molds;
- testing of finished products according to all parameters specified by technical specifications.
