Jean-Honoré Fragonard

Jean-Honoré Fragonard was a painter and illustrator born on April 5, 1732, in Grasse, France . He held citizenship in both France and the Kingdom of France (1791–92) . Fragonard was educated at the French Academy in Rome . His artistic focus encompassed genres such as portrait and landscape paintings .

Some of his notable works include "A Young Girl Reading," "The Swing," and "The Lock" . Fragonard passed away in Paris on August 22, 1806 . He was the father of Alexandre-Évariste Fragonard , who also became an artist, following in his father's footsteps.
