Henry IV, Duke of Saxony

Henry IV, Duke of Saxony , was born on March 16, 1473, in Dresden , and died on August 18, 1541, in the same city . He was the son of Albert III, Duke of Saxony , and Sidonie of Poděbrady . He held German nationality and citizenship , and was also known for being from the House of Wettin .

As a duke and politician , Henry IV was known to have established the Lutheran church as the state religion in his domains . He had several children, such as Sibylle of Saxony , Emilie of Saxony , Sidonie of Saxony , Augustus, Elector of Saxony , Maurice, Elector of Saxony , and Severinus of Saxony . Henry IV was the father of all these children .
