Guillaume de Machaut

Guillaume de Machaut was a French composer, poet, writer, and songwriter born in 1300 in Machault, Ardennes. He is known for his significant contributions to the genre of Ars nova. Some of his most notable works include the Messe de Nostre Dame. In his lifetime, de Machaut's various occupations saw him penning numerous compositions, lyrical poetry, and narrative works. De Machaut passed away in the year 1377 in the city of Reims, France.
