Angarosphecidae (lat.) is a fossil family of small sphecoid wasps from the deposits of the Cretaceous period. The name is given on behalf of the ancient Siberian continent Angarida.One of the oldest groups of wasps, the age of the finds is from 145 to 50 million years (Cretaceous, Mesozoic and Eocene).
The species mainly lived on the lands of Eurasia (Great Britain, Spain, China, Myanmar, Mongolia, Russia), North America (Canada), South America (Brazil).
The family Angarosphecidae is a family of small wasps, less than 1 cm long. Parapsidal sutures are developed on the pronotum. The eyes are oval, large. The forewings with full venation and from other stinging ones differ in the following features: 2r-rs departs from the pterostigma at a right angle, 1m-cu is located at the base of the 2r-m cell. The abdomen is short. Developed gene bridge on the head.
