Ambarella is round or oval, with an orange peel and white, juicy flesh that has a sweetish taste. Inside the fruit are several large seeds.

Ambarella can be eaten fresh, as well as used to make juices, jams and other dishes. The fruit is also used in traditional medicine to treat a number of ailments, including stomach pain, coughs, and bronchitis.
