Saman Salur is an Iranian film director and screenwriter who was born in 1976. He earned a Bachelor of Film and Television in Directing from Soore University. He is best known for directing and writing the comedy feature "A Few Kilos of Dates for a Funeral," which won the Golden Leopard and Special Jury Prize at the Locarno International Film Festival in 2006, as well as a special Jury prize from the Sofia International Film Festival and a Montgolfiere from the Three Continents Festival. 'Residents of Silent Land,' his first documentary, won an award at the Molodist Kiev International Film Festival. His most recent film, "We Will Say Amen," was prohibited for four years, until 2016.
