The history of Kievvodokanal tightly bounds to the history of Kiev city. During its 1500 years of existence, Kiev, which is one of the largest cities in Europe, could not do without water supply and sewage systems. They, in its own turn, were inevitable in the process of development and manufacturing innovations in technology of each era. The first stage of the city water supply was constructed and launched in 1872. It is this year when the history of Kyivvodokanal traditionally begins its records. For the first time, Kiev residents were able to appreciate the benefits of a centralized water supply system that supplied water directly from the Dnipro river up to their homes.
1939, the Dnipro water supply station was built with combined with treatment facilities, including the disinfection of drinking water. The Desnian water supply station, built in 1961, provided the main supply of drinking water to the city. In 1965 the Bortnicheskaya aeration station was put into operation, which ensured the mechanical and biological cleaning of all Kiev waste water.
Today, the water from the river is processed into drinking water and transported to the houses and enterprises. After that, the sewage runoff flows are cleared and return to Dnipro river. Kievvodokanal controls the quality and composition of water at every stage of the cycle. About 1000 samples are selected and analyzed on a daily basis.
Dnipro river, Desna river and Artesian wells are the sources where water rises to the Dnipro and Desnian stations. These are the stations where complex technological steps of its processing take place.
Kyiv water supply consists of about 4 200 km of networks. It is a distance that 700 million liters of clean water conquers every day in order to reache homes and facilities. Sewage together with its excessive content of pollutants and garbage, overlaps nearly 3,000 km through pipelines and arrives at the Bortnicheskaya aeration station, where their mechanical and biological treatment takes place.
All of these vitally necessary for Kyiv residents processes are provided by a team of 7 thousand enterprise workers, 450 units of special equipment, dozens of objects with complex equipment and technologies.
In addition to that, starting from 2015 Kyivvodanalal is a responsible executor of the largest investment project in Ukraine in the field of housing and utilities - the reconstruction of the Bortnickaya Aeration Station. It was then, when a loan agreement was signed between the Governments of Ukraine and Japan in order to raise funds for the BAS reconstruction relying on the most favorable conditions for Ukraine from the Japanese Agency of International Cooperation. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine enacted legislation on the ratification of the Agreement in the form of note exchange between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of Japan. The President of Ukraine signed it. The construction works will last for almost 6 years.
Also, the construction of a long-awaited facility - the second thread of the Main City Sewer Collector, which ensures the reliable work of the city sewer system, has been completed and put into operation. The restoration of the active phase of construction works took place in 2015. It was possible due to rhythmic financing from the city and state budgets in 2015-2017.

Vinnytsiaoblvodokanal is a communal enterprise that supplies Vinnytsia residents with water of standard quality and in the required quantity in accordance with sanitary and hygienic standards in force in Ukraine.
Another important area of Vinnytsiaoblvodokanal, which is the basis of the city's sanitary and environmental well-being, is drainage. The complex of various engineering constructions and measures of sanitary character provide effective collection of sewage from the population and the enterprises of industrial type, transportation of water and its clearing.
Today the number of subscribers who use the services of this utility exceeds 121 thousand. It should also be noted that the number of subscribers in the private sector is 17,255.
On the balance and maintenance of 4 artesian wells.
History of the enterprise:
The first mention of the need to build a water supply system in the county of Vinnytsia appeared in 1902. The population of the city at that time was 30,000 people. The capacity of the water supply system was estimated at 60,000 buckets of water per day. For the city, the amount of 224,447 rubles (namely, this amount was to cost the construction of a water supply system) was unbearable. They returned to the issue of construction in 1910, in December. The city council signed an agreement with merchants Remer, Neer and Ziskind, who acted as contractors for the construction of a water supply system in Vinnytsia.
In 1961, the Ukrprokomunstroy Institute began developing a project to expand the water supply system in Vinnytsia by 50,000 cubic meters. per day with bringing the capacity of waterworks to 80 thousand cubic meters per day. In 1961, the length of water supply networks in Vinnytsia was 112 km. The next stage of water supply expansion in Vinnytsia dates back to 1972, when the relevant project was developed. In 1978, the total length of water supply networks was 236 km. The development of the city was hampered by the low capacity of sewerage networks and the capacity of wastewater treatment plants. It was decided to build additional capacity of the city USC, sewage pumping stations and networks in the city. In 1965 the first stage of the queue of biological treatment plants with a capacity of 9,000 m per day was put into operation, in 1966 the second stage of the second stage with a capacity of 9 more was put into operation. 000 m per day, and in 1967 introduced three stage queues with a capacity of 9,000 m-day. Thus, the total capacity of sewage treatment plants of the first and second stages reached 33 thousand m-day.
But this did not solve all the problems, especially since in the period from 1979 to 1990 due to the construction of water supply station №3, additional water mains and reservoirs, the total capacity of the water supply system was increased to 230 thousand cubic meters. m. per day. Therefore, in 1967 the construction of the third stage of sewage treatment plants was started, which by the 1980s had increased the capacity of the USC to 83 thousand cubic meters. m. per day. And with the gradual introduction of the IV stage, during 1984 - 1987 and the V stage, in 1991-1993, and the removal due to moral and physical deterioration of buildings of the I and II stages, the total capacity of USC reached 150 thousand cubic meters. m. per day.
In 1976 on the basis of the main enterprise of water supply and sewerage economy of Vinnytsia the regional production enterprise "Vinnytsiavodokanal" was created. It included 9 district water supply and sewerage facilities.
