eSAT Global provides direct-to-satellite, ultra-low power, two-way, and low-latency narrowband connectivity solutions for IoT devices anywhere on earth. The company is working with partners to deploy solutions to millions of devices in vertical markets, including power distribution, border and perimeter security, oil and gas, smart agriculture, transportation, and maritime.

eSAT works to provide global coverage without the need for terrestrial infrastructure of backhaul, with latency as low as below two seconds and with guaranteed transmission. The company suggests the solutions it provides come from a technical possibility that leverages existing reliable geosynchronous MSS satellite platforms to offer coverage and latency not necessarily matched by LEO and CubeSat systems.

The eSAT communication platform works to use the GEO MSS satellites to communicate with IoT terminals, either sensors or actuators or tracking devices, containing an eSAT communications module that transmits the same power as an RFID device. The eSAT module uses a 10 milliwatt signal to communicate directly to the MSS satellites. The company feels that LEO satellites for IoT connectivity have no quantitative advantage over GEO satellites for IoT connectivity. This is especially the case in the areas of cost-per-bit in both directions, terminal transmit power, capacity and spectral efficiency, in which eSAT suggest GEO satellites offers around 100 times better performance.
