Hiber is a developer of a nanosatellite platform designed to provide low-cost IoT data connectivity for sensors globally. The company's nanosatellite platform provides low power network access to things and delivers small data packages facilitating data collection from anywhere. Its modem can be easily installed on any monitoring device.

Hiberband Network

Hiberband is Hiber's low power global area network (LPGAN) which uses nanosatellites at a low-Earth orbit of 600km above Earth. The network offers low-power modem batteries intended to last five to ten years and has a dedicated frequency where Hiber has priority for network IoT connectivity.

The satellite network is intended to be low cost, with a focus on nanosatellites that are twenty times cheaper than traditional telecommunication satellites, offering mass deployment and allowing Hiber to build a nanosatellite constellation. Based on the ability to develop the constellation for the Hiberband network, Hiber offers direct-to-satellite connectivity. As well, based on the network's dedicated frequency, users do not have to worry about systems switching networks and losing connection.

Hiber offers two ways to connect to the Hiberband network: Hiberband Direct and Hiberband Via. These connection solutions are intended for different network needs, with low density and scattered solutions working best through Hiberband Direct, according to Hiber. Hiberband Via is intended for use by high-density IoT setups requiring more data. As well, Hiber offers a Mission Control software platform that allows users to manage and track devices on the network. Through this software, users can integrate the data from the Hiberband network into their solutions and their software. As well, Hiber offers a developer kit for helping users develop integrations, test connections, and try new use cases not offered by Hiber.

Example of a HiberHilo sensor which offers remote pressure and temperature monitoring via satellite.

HiberHilo is an IoT solution developed for wellheads in the petroleum industry. The device is intended to be connected to a wellhead and allows the Hiberband IoT network to monitor the necessary data from the wellhead in near-real time. This is intended to reduce the need for crews to be on the ground at a wellhead, offer better understanding of maintenance needs for a wellhead, and offer constant monitoring—which Hiber suggests is not capable with either people on the ground or with traditional wellhead monitoring devices.

The HiberHilo solution works to monitor wellhead pressure and temperature through the installation of sensors and a connected gateway. These sensors are battery and solar powered, and Hilo offers a dashboard to help users monitor their wellheads in one place.

HiberHeavy

HiberHeavy is an IoT solution for the remote monitoring of heavy machinery and related assets. These sensors are intended to offer users productivity optimization and constant monitoring of heavy machinery assets with global coverage through the Hiberband network. This is intended to help users ensure maintenance is done on time, as Hiber suggests most maintenance is either too early or too late. As well, it is intended to offer planned downtime based on sensor data and an understanding of machine wear. As well, the sensors can work to understand machine idling and the amount of fuel used in idling versus fuel used during operation.
