SW DAO

SW DAO began life in 2016 after co-founders Alex Markl, Jenny Ban, and Robert Meyer met at LMU University in Munich. With joint backgrounds in computer science, app development, and econometrics/quantitative analysis, a move into crypto seemed natural. The name SW comes from the team’s initial business idea, a self-custody solution that was to be called ‘Sun Wallet’. This project did not come to fruition, but the team did see an opportunity to apply their coding and quantitative knowledge to the realm of machine learning algorithmic trading and started building their successful and popular SW Capital series of trading bots, which historically have outperformed the market by several multiples.

After launching their products on the Stacked Invest platform to test the waters the team saw a great deal of interest from market participants in crypto portfolio management services. From this, the idea of SW DAO was born, with early-stage planning and development starting in early 2020. Midway through development the team recognised the opportunity to build something grander than an algo-trading platform, and the project was scaled up to meet the market demand for a community run, modular, and customizable investment platform in the DeFi space.

We aim to become the industry leader and go-to destination for structured products and derivatives in DeFi.

Our culture of intellectual curiosity and contrarianism combined with bleeding edge technology lets us tackle this emerging asset class in groundbreaking new ways, challenge the status quo and uncover new insights.

Though the nature of our investment strategies is systematic, we foster a strong fundamental belief in the crypto ecosystem with the conviction that Bitcoin and its contemporaries are destined to disrupt the world around us.
