Overview

Bitski is a company developing decentralized applications (dApps), including an NFT marketplace and a cryptocurrency wallet. The company's wallet application is, in part, intended to allow users to access the wallet from any device and to purchase or swap assets, such as tokens or NFTs, anywhere they are. This is as Bitski wants to be a place where users can trade digital goods, bring digitally owned goods onto the platform, automate the distribution of management of NFTs on a creator's platform, and be a commercial and social hub of the metaverse.

Bitski wallet

Unlike wallets that are stored locally on a user's computer, Bitski wallets are stored in hardware security modules. Hardware security modules are physically protected in biometric-secure data centers that are regionally distributed. This provides users with increased security, while still offering a simplified wallet experience, acting like a hot wallet but with the security of a cold wallet.

Bitski uses OAuth to provide access to a user's wallet. This allows developers to integrate the wallet into games and social platforms, and users can use their NFTs outside of their wallet. As well, Bitski's wallet is capable of plugging into secondary markets, like OpenSea, for the sale or swap of NFTs.

Through the Bitski SDK, developer apps can request access to a user's Bitski accounts. As well, Bitski's keys never leave the hardware, which means users do not need to worry about remembering seed phrases, and users can safely recover passwords. From the wallet home screen, users are able to

  • view NFTs
  • check ETH balance
  • track wallet activity
  • send and receive ETH
  • purchase ETH
  • transfer NFTs
  • adjust settings
  • get support
  • access creator portal
Bitski Marketplace

Bitski's marketplace is developed to enable users to purchase NFTs as if they are purchasing regular items on an ecommerce website. This is done through the use of storefronts on the marketplace, which allow creators to create and sell NFTs to their audience. The marketplace offers a developer platform for custom integrations and storefront experiences. And as explored above, the digital wallet offered by Bitski is designed for mass market adoption to make it easy for users to purchase an NFT with nothing more than a credit card, rather than requiring users to open a separate wallet and purchase cryptocurrency from an exchange before they are able to purchase NFTs.

This ease of onboarding, offered by Bitski's marketplace, has proved attractive for creators, as it offers a marketplace that could attract more people to it; it also attracts new users and those interested in NFTs and cryptocurrencies but are unsure how to purchase an easy way to wade into the market.
