Over the course of his nearly 40-year career in real estate, Robert Futterman has represented an impressive list of developers, landlords, and institutions on their retail real estate, including Milstein Properties, The Related Companies, Hines, RFR Realty, LLC, Forest City Ratner, Vornado Realty Trust, Turnberry Associates, Taconic Investment Partners, Carlyle Group, Fisher Brothers, Glenwood Management, The Blackstone Group, Extell Development Company, Apollo Real Estate Advisors, Morgan Stanley, MetLife, and Reckson Associates Realty Corp. In addition, Robert Futterman has worked on behalf of many of the top retailers in the US, including Apple, Adidas, Barnes & Noble, Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Forever 21, Virgin Megastores, Tourneau, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, J.Crew, Polo Ralph Lauren, Bed Bath & Beyond, and 24 Hour Fitness.

A testament to his work, network, and tenacity, Robert Futterman is a three-time winner of the REBNY Retail Deal of the Year for creativity and major contributions to Manhattan’s retail landscape. He created one of the most successful retail real estate firms in the US and has had a hand in revitalizing several of New York’s retail markets, including Union Square South, SoHo, Times Square, 34th Street/Herald Square, Columbus Circle, and the Meatpacking District.

Robert Futterman’s career began as a canvasser with Garrick-Aug Associates following his time at the University of Maryland. While no longer in existence, Garrick-Aug was formerly the top leasing retail real estate brokerage firm in New York. During his time there, Futterman quickly rose through the ranks to become a top producer and, in 1993, head of Garrick-Aug’s New York City operations as Executive Vice President. In addition to his work in retail real estate, he served as an advisor to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for the World Trade Center redevelopment and is actively involved in the Urban Land Institute, the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
