Biography
1998–2016: Early years
Born February 17, 1998 in Ufa. According to MTV, by nationality - "half Russian, half Bashkir". Mother was in the flower business. Parents divorced, and when Alisher was 11 years old, his father died of cirrhosis of the liver due to severe alcoholism. He began to get involved in rap in his school years, at that time Guf and AK-47 played in his player. When he was 16 years old, he worked at a car wash, washing windows, handing out flyers on the street and trying his hand at being a courier.
From childhood he showed interest in music. As a teenager, he skateboarded with his friends, filming it on video, they called themselves "Others Crew". The very first clip called "Above the Clouds" was filmed in 2010.
For some time he studied at the Pedagogical University, was subsequently expelled after, in practice at school, he suggested that a student have sex in the toilet and recorded it on video. In the leadership of the university, he was openly called a “freak”, and his work was called “shit”. He managed to enter the university only because of the benefits that he had due to the death of his father. Then he entered the Ufa State Aviation Technical University with a degree in computer science, but was soon expelled. According to his own words, he worked as a courier, a car washer, and was also a street musician. He was the leader of a rock band called MMD CREW, recorded tracks under the pseudonyms Mamavirgin and 1st july. Collaborated with the rap artist Face, doing post-production for the video clips "Gosha Rubchinsky", which was released on January 3, 2016 and "Megan Fox", which was released on March 11, 2016.
2017–2018: Early career, debut mini-album Hate Me
He first gained fame thanks to parody videos as part of his own project “#EasyRep” on YouTube[3]. Later, he again entered the university - at the Ufa State Aviation Technical University, at the Department of Informatics and Robotics. To permanently cut off his path to regular office work, Morgenstern got a tattoo on his face in the form of the number “666”: “I just sat and thought:“ If I don’t think of anything smarter than three sixes by morning, I’ll get them. ”.
On January 4, 2018, he released a video clip for Yuri Khovansky, where he challenged him to a rap battle as part of the Versus Battle site. Khovansky initially refused the fight, arguing his position by the fact that Morgenstern was “not of his level of hype” [13], but later changed his mind, asking for a fee of two million rubles. Morgenstern replied that he was not interested in rap battles for money[14].
On February 17, 2018, he released his debut mini-album Hate Me, as well as a video clip for the tracks "Wild" and "Insomnia". On August 26, 2018, he made a performance by releasing a video with advertising integration and a black screen, receiving 500 thousand rubles for it (according to Morgenstern), exponentially burned 100 thousand rubles and on September 2, 2018 released a video clip “That's it” , which as of September 4, 2018 was in the TOP-8 of the most popular musical compositions of the VKontakte social network.
On October 4, 2018, he hid all the videos on his channel, and already on October 12 he released the album “Before he became famous” [20], which consisted exclusively of tracks released before Morgenstern’s popularity. Subsequently, speculation began to circulate on social networks that this was not the album that was actually supposed to be released, and everyone was waiting for completely different material. On the first day, the album broke the record for reposts on the VKontakte social network, collecting 50,000 reposts in a day and breaking the previous record, which belonged to the rapper LIZER. Later, a video was released on the channel in which Morgenstern admitted that all this time he was supposedly a commercial project, the purpose of which was to make money and promote creativity. As proof, Alisher allegedly invited his producer, who confirmed the words of the YouTuber[22]. After 4 days, a video was released in which Morgenstern refutes all his words that he is a project, says that he finishes with video blogging and begins to seriously engage in music, and also cuts off his dreadlocks and stuffs a new tattoo - Morgenstern[23] . On November 17, 2018, a video was released for the song “Wow…Money…”, in which, according to Morgenstern, he finally buries his old image and appears for the first time without his dreadlocks.
2019: "Smile Fool!" and rising popularity
On January 1, 2019, the album “Smile, fool!” was released. The album featured artists 4Teen and LSP, as well as video blogger Dmitry Larin. The song "Green-eyed Deffki!", Recorded with the participation of LSP, hit the top 30 of the world ranking of the Genius website, as well as the top 10 of the VKontakte music chart.
On February 17, 2019, he deleted all videos on his channel, releasing the “Last Clip”, in which he announced that he no longer enjoyed his activities on the YouTube platform and that he was going to delete his channel, going in search of a new business, from which his eyes will “light up as much as they once lit up from YouTube”. A stream was launched with a countdown timer. Also on this day, Morgenstern came as a guest to the Larin Show Live, having a joint charity stream with Dmitry Larin. Bloggers raised almost 62,000 rubles to help homeless animals.
On February 20, 2019, the release of Amiran Sardarov’s YouTube show (“Khach’s Diary”) “Untitled Show” was released with the participation of Dmitry Larin and Morgenstern, where the latter came to say goodbye to YouTube and answer questions from the presenters and viewers. On February 21, 2019, he conducted a live broadcast on his channel, in which he announced that, as a result of 4 days of deliberation after starting the countdown timer, he changed his mind about deleting the channel and asked the viewers for forgiveness.
On February 28, 2019, he announced in his official VKontakte community that almost all the videos on his channel had been restored: “It was not possible to return a couple of clips, izireps and conversations, the checkbox was taken away, but in general everything is ok” - and announced a new video about the concert tour.
On August 30, 2019, Morgenstern released a track and video called "The New Gelding". By the end of the year, the video had received over 28 million views
On November 1, 2019, the single "Sad Song" Thrill Pill was released with ac. Egor Creed and Morgenstern[36].
On November 15, 2019, the single “I don’t give a fuck” was released jointly with Klava Koka. On December 3, a music video for the song was released.
On December 20, 2019, he released a single and a video called "Yung Hefner", in which he announced his intentions to record an album live in January in a week.
2020: "Legendary Dust"
On January 17, 2020, an album called Legendary Dust was released, which managed to collect 21 million plays on VKontakte in the first two days.
On January 31, 2020, he visited the Evening Urgant show[39], where, together with Ivan Urgant and Slava Marlow, they recorded a rap track.
On March 8, 2020, a single with a video called "Baby" was released together with Charlotte.
On April 30, 2020, he held an online concert on the platform from MTS, in which he covered several of his rock hits.
On June 5, 2020, a single and a video called “Suck” was released. The music video has collected more than 2.5 million dislikes, becoming the most disliked video on YouTube[en] in Russia.
On June 8, 2020, the song “Cadillac” together with LJ was leaked to the network, which hit the same day at number 1 on the Genius chart[45]. At midnight, June 9, the single was officially released. The video clip was released on LJ's birthday on July 9, 2020 on YouTube. On July 17, 2020, remixes of the song were released.
On June 25, 2020, the Russian version of Forbes magazine published the list of "40 most successful stars in Russia under 40 years old 2020", in which Alisher Morgenstern took the 21st line with a total income for the year of $ 1.5 million[48].
On July 1, 2020, a snippet of the new track "Ice" was published, the official release took place on July 31, 2020[49]. Morgenstern fueled public interest in the release of the single with video messages to an unnamed artist, with whom there was supposed to be a joint song. In the video messages themselves, Alisher said that the performer had been ignoring him for two weeks, and if he did not respond within a day, Alisher would release the track without indicating the authorship of the second performer. As it turned out later, it was another performance from Alisher.
On September 4, 2020, the single “Lollipop” was released together with LJ with a sample of the song Hands Up! "Song", which is already the second joint work of the artists. A little later, on the same day, a disco music video was released.
On September 8, 2020, he attended the 12th annual Topical Style Awards 2020, where he won the Woman of the Year award. “The last few months I have been sitting and thinking, what next? I'm already the most watched, listened to and talked about artist of 2020 and this award is a breath of fresh air for me,” Morgenstern commented on his Instagram.
In 2020, Morgenstern gave an interview to the Russian-language author's Internet show "VDud", published on November 3, 2020 on the official YouTube channel of the Internet show.
On November 13, 2020, Morgenstern released the song "Watafuk?!", a collaboration with American rapper Lil Pump. A day after the release of the song, an animated video released on Morgenstern's official YouTube channel gained five million views[64] and topped the trends of the Russian YouTube segment[65][66].
On November 28, 2020, Alisher released the song "Clip for 10 Lyams" along with a video clip, which is a promotional video. The music video was filmed for Alfa-Bank for 10 million rubles, three of which will be raffled off later. A month later, on December 28, 2020, a single called "Cristal & Moet" was released. Together with the single, a clip was published in which Morgenstern summed up the results of 2020.
2021: Million Dollar: Hapiness and Million Dollar: Business
On March 15, 2021, it became known that the rapper was appointed to the position of director of youth work at Alfa-Bank. But after information appeared that an administrative case had been opened against the rapper for drug propaganda, Alfa-Bank reported that the news was a publicity stunt and the musician was not an employee of the bank.
On April 2, 2021, he released a video clip “New Wave” jointly with DJ Smash, in which the performer of the original and new versions of the song, singer Lyudmila Sokolova, starred.
On May 4-5, 2021, information began to spread in the media that Morgenstern was taken into the army, which is a promo for the new single. On May 7, 2021, the single and music video "Dulo" was released with an advertisement for the computer game War Thunder.

On July 15, 2021, the streaming service Spotify named Morgenstern the most listened to performer from Russia during the year of the service's existence in the territory of the Russian Federation.
On August 31, 2021, the day of Morgenstern’s wedding, a 2-hour interview with Alisher, recorded in June in Turkey, was released on the YouTube channel of Ukrainian journalist Dmitry Gordon.
On November 19, 2021, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation began checking against Alisher for drug propaganda because of the video for the song "Pablo". According to the investigation, the content posted in 2013-2021 may contain calls that encourage people to use drugs.
On November 23, 2021, the chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, stated that rapper Morgenstern "essentially sells drugs on social networks." Soon after, Morgenstern left Russia and moved to Dubai, and all his previously scheduled concerts in the country were canceled[85][86]. Alisher recorded the song “Home”, released on December 10, 2021, about his departure from Russia and a check from the Investigative Committee.
In December 2021, a member of the Public Chamber, Yekaterina Mizulina, stated that the musician receives funding from abroad in exchange for using certain themes in her songs. According to the politician, she received this information from the media, but she did not specify which ones.
The Russian press expressed polar assessments of Morgenstern's activities. For example, shocking was called his main tool of promotion.
Personal life
He has been married to Dilara Zinatullina since August 31, 2021. Alisher made an offer in July during the filming of the video "NOMINALO", to which Dilara answered "yes."
From 2017 to October 2019, the couple was also together, but according to Alisher, said in an interview with Yuri Dudu, published on November 3, 2020, in October 2019 he invited her to make the relationship open, but Dilara refused, and the couple broke up.
In the summer of 2020, Dilara and Alisher got back together. On August 31, 2021, they got married in Moscow.
Business
In 2020, it became known about Morgenstern's intentions to open a restaurant in Moscow. On June 25, 2020, Alisher Morgenstern and Eduard Popov, better known as an autoblogger under the pseudonym "Janis Grek" and one of the members of the YouTube channel "Team A", registered KAIF LLC, and on October 26, 2020 on The Kaif Provenance restaurant was opened on the top floor of an office building on Bolshaya Dmitrovka. On November 25, 2021, the establishment was temporarily closed due to the lack of a license to sell alcohol when it is on the menu.
On September 26, 2021, Morgenstern opened a Kaif Burger on Nikolskaya Street in Moscow[96].
On January 10, 2022, he announced the discovery of a new media: having cleaned up the posts in his Telegram channel, he renamed it “Not Morgenstern” and put an avatar with a red question mark on a white background, parodying Navalny’s symbols. In the opening post, Morgenstern promised an independent, freedom-loving publication. During the week of the existence of the new media, its audience grew from 370 to 900 thousand people against the background of cheating the audience through the distribution of money to subscribers, the entertainment content of the publication was no different from teenage public.
