What Is Revomon (REVO)?

Revomon combines elements from Axie Infinity with Pokémon Go to create a monster-hunting game that will be playable in a virtual reality environment. Like Pokémon Go, players take on the role of a “Revomon Tamer” that hunts and tames the game’s monsters and interacts with virtual reality through real-life gestures. In line with other play-to-earn games, players can go on quests, compete with others in PvP and tournament gameplay, and unlock achievements.

Revomon was launched in April 2021 and published its first alpha version in June 2021. The team promises to release a fully-functioning desktop version in the roadmap by the end of the year and develop a mobile and a VR version in Q1 2022.

Who Are the Founders of Revomon?

Revomon is a creation of French co-founders Jordan Ietri and Maxime Reynders. While Ietri has more than five years of experience as a project manager at the French retailer Auchan, Reynders is a serial entrepreneur and mobile app developer that previously built DeFi of Thrones. In total, a team of ten is working on the game’s development.

Revomon was launched on BSCPad, a launchpad for Binance Smart Chain projects. Its backers include SideQuest, a VR platform that integrates with Oculus, LVT Capital, a venture capital fund focusing on VR projects, and Te-Food, an end-to-end food traceability solution on the blockchain.

What Makes Revomon Unique?

Revomon bills itself as “the first collectible monster metaverse available in virtual reality.” As such, its unique value proposition is combining familiar GameFi elements with VR gameplay.

For instance, players will interact with the game’s metaverse by using familiar hand gestures such as throwing balls to catch monsters. The game’s menus, where players can switch between the trainer menu, the in-game NFT auctions and the marketplace will be operated with hand motions as well.

Furthermore, Revomon provides an opportunity for players to monetize their playtime and enjoy true ownership of the assets collected in the game. Those are based on the familiar ERC-1155 and ERC-721 standards that allow tokens to be uniquely identifiable and tradeable as NFTs throughout the Ethereum ecosystem. Players will be able to earn by trading their caught Revomon or buying items in the game’s Global Trade Station to upgrade them. Moreover, they can challenge other players with their Revomon in the game’s PvP battle mode.

Finally, Revomon also offers DeFi elements, where players can earn a passive income by providing liquidity to the token’s liquidity pool. A significant share of the token supply is specifically allocated towards staking rewards.

How Many Revomon (REVO) Coins Are There in Circulation?

REVO serves as an in-game currency that users can buy collectibles or items with or which they can earn through engaging in quests and competitions. REVO can also be used to vote in the project’s governance proposals and for staking in the Revomon liquidity pools.

The total supply of REVO is 100 million. The token distribution is as follows:

How Is the Revomon Network Secured?

Revomon is being built on the Unity engine, the C# scripting API and the built-in Visual Studio integration. The team chose these for their efficiency on low-power machines, community size, engine age and developer documentation. This component-based approach allows the team to build with flexibility while delivering impressive graphics and a simple and intuitive user interface.

REVO is a BEP-20 token on the Binance Smart Chain. BSC is secured through the proof-of-stake consensus mechanism. 21 validators are elected every 24 hours to validate transactions and maintain blockchain security. These validators have to stake a certain amount of BNB coins with Binance to be eligible.
