Weak artificial intelligence or narrow AI is a form of artificial intelligence specifically designed to be focused on a narrow task. Weak AI simply acts upon and is bound by the commands imposed on it. All of its actions, decisions and ideas are programmed in it.

Artificial intelligence research and development will always be in aspiration of simulation of human cognitive function. Weak AI does not intend to go beyond human capabilities.
