Venture Kick

Venture Kick is a Zurich-based private, philanthropic initiative and accelerator firm that provides pre-seed funding to entrepreneurs from Swiss universities. Venture Kick was launched in 2007 with the stated mission "to double the number of spin-offs at Swiss universities, to accelerate the time-to-market and to raise the attractiveness of these young companies to professional investors." Venture Kick offers as much as 150,000 Swiss francs seed stage financing and a well-structured entrepreneurial path to startups through its nine month business development process. Throughout the process, startups pitch to expert juries at each stage to obtain funding, gaining feedback and access to a network of entrepreneurs and investors.

Venture Kick is supported by the charitable “Kick Foundation," a private consortium of ten foundations, corporations, and private individuals, which is monitored by the Swiss Federal Supervisory Board of Foundations. Since its launch in 2007, Venture Kick has invested 25 million francs in 755 Swiss startup projects in the information technology, communications, life sciences, cleantech, high-tech, products, and services sectors. In 2021, Venture Kick had 5.5 million francs to invest in 163 "kicks."
