Valhalla Land is a combat play-to-earn role-playing video game (RPG) based on blockchain and NFT technologies. The game allows players to immerse themselves into a medieval fantasy of Scandinavian mythology, where they can earn in-game items as non-fungible tokens on their wallets or trade for items using the Valhalla token ($VALH). Valhalla Land is based upon the Binance Smart Chain (BSC).
Valhalla Land is developed by HWC Studio, a gaming studio that makes interactive entertainment based on the blockchain. The studio's CEO, Sergey (also known as Wild), is also listed as the founder and CEO of Valhalla Land. Valhalla Land was founded in August 2021, and is currently in pre-release.
Players in Valhalla Land can choose from five available classes for their in-game character: swordsman, archer, thief, magician or cleric. All of these classes have similar mechanics except for clerics, who act as support characters that enhance the abilities and stats of other players. Classes are only able to equip their unique class gear; for example, a swordsman cannot use an archer's bow. The difference in gear encourages Valhalla players to either trade unwanted items or break them down for crafting materials. Valhalla Land users may save a maximum of five characters to their account, (i.e. wallet address).
In Valhalla Land, players have the option to fight monsters of different levels. Higher-level creatures give players more rewards, but are much more difficult to fight. Lower-level monsters, in contrast, are easier to defeat, but drop less valuable loot when they are slain. Fights in Valhalla Land happen automatically, and costs players some of their character's stamina. If a player's stamina drops to zero, the character will be unable to fight and must recover. Player stamina refills gradually over time, and also refills when players log off of the game.
Players are also able to craft in-game items in Valhalla Land, such as weapons and consumables. Crafting requires that players know the recipe to craft their desired item, as well as some components and some amount of VALH tokens. Components are acquired by breaking spare or unwanted items. Crafting is not yet available in Valhalla Land but will be available shortly after the main game launch.
Valhalla Land plans to add a guild system to the game in future updates. The guild system would allow players to form alliances as well as conquer and defend in-game territories. Valhalla Land also plans to include a ranking system, in which top guilds would be decided based on the number of guild-vs-guild fights that have been won.
Valhalla Land is play-to-earn, meaning players can earn VALH, the game's token, when they play the game. Fifty percent of the VALH token supply will be reserved for the in-game treasury. Players can receive rewards and VALH tokens when fighting monsters or participating in game activities.
