Valery Legasov

Valery Legasov was born in Tula, Russia on September 1, 1936 and passed away in Moscow on April 27, 1988. He held citizenship in the Soviet Union and his nationality is Russian. Legasov was educated at the D. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia.

Legasov had several occupations, including chemist, physicist, and at one point, he was a Chernobyl liquidator. He gained recognition as the Chief Scientific Advisor of the commission investigating the Chernobyl disaster. In addition to his significant work in the field, Legasov also received the Merited Artist of the Russian Federation award.
