Theseus (company)

Theseus is a blockchain application team incubated at Internet of Services (IOST). Theseus aims to innovate decentralized application (dApp) development aimed for mass use. Theseus is intended for use by companies and organizations who are planning to utilize blockchain technology for their businesses, such as those operating in the gaming industry.

Theseus is looking to be a catalyst to spread blockchain applications through everyday uses. Making blockchain technology that provides new pathways for IOST developer communities.

In 2018, Internet of Service IOST announced that Theseus has managed to receive funding from Sequoia Capital China, Matrix Partners China, ZhenFund and K2VC.

The team was inspired to name the company Theseus after the Theseus' Paradox which asks the question of is an object fundamentally the same after all of its components have been replaced. The idea that technological advancements eventually alter and advance original breakthroughs, which comes from a cascading effect.
