The Tu-204 is the basic aircraft of the family, which includes aircraft with an improved set of technical and operational characteristics. These are passenger planes Tu-204-100 and Tu-204-100V; cargo Tu-204S and Tu-204SE; long-haul Tu-204-300 and Tu-204 300A; aircraft powered by Rolls Royce Tu-204-120, Tu-204-120S, Tu-204-100CE and others.
In 2008, the Tu-204-120CE (a cargo modification of the Tu-204-120 with modernized equipment and an English-speaking cockpit) was one of the first Russian-made aircraft to be certified according to European standards and received a type certificate from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
