Svante offers companies in emissions-intensive industries, a way to capture large-scale CO₂ emissions from existing infrastructure, either for safe storage or to be recycled for further industrial use in a closed loop.

Svante captures carbon economically. With the ability to capture CO2 directly from industrial sources at less than half the capital cost of existing solutions, Svante makes commercial-scale carbon capture a reality and fights against climate change. Svante’s process is largely material agnostic, which means that when new materials are developed, the company anticipates lowering the cost of industrial scale carbon capture even further.

Svante has invested tens of millions of dollars in developing state-of-the-art solid sorption laboratories with capabilities that cover surface chemistry, thermodynamics, kinetics, rheology, hydrodynamics, cyclic processing, mechanical testing, mechanical sealing, tribology, durability, and contaminants management.

CO2MENT

Svante's CO2MENT project aims to capture carbon from a cement plant. Project CO2MENT demonstrates Svante’s CO2 Capture System and a selection of CO2 utilization technologies at Lafarge’s Richmond, BC, cement plant.

Carbon capture technology

Svante develops technology that captures carbon dioxide from flue gas, concentrates it, then releases it for safe storage or industrial use, all in 60 seconds. The company's approach tailors specifically to the challenges of separating carbon dioxide from nitrogen contained in diluted flue gas generated by industrial plants such as cement, steel, aluminum, fertilizer, and hydrogen, which is typically emitted in large volumes, at low pressures, and dilute concentrations. Svante’s carbon capture technology consists of a patented architecture of structured adsorbent laminate (spaced sheets), proprietary process cycle design, and a rotary mechanical contactor to capture, release and regenerate the adsorbent in a single unit.

ICS3 International Carbon Capture Center

Svante, in partnership with Electricore Inc., creates ICS3 to focus on the demonstration, testing, and education of second-generation CO₂ capture technology using advanced solid adsorbent materials. The center’s objective is to move novel solid adsorbent materials from the laboratory to operational power and industrial plants, and to establish new standards in the characterization of new adsorbent materials and benchmark the performance of CO₂ capture processes using rapid cycles.
