Sidney J. Furie

Sidney J. Furie is a Canadian film producer, screenwriter, and director born on February 28, 1933. Furie was educated at Carnegie Mellon University and began releasing films in 1959. Throughout his career, he has worked on films spanning multiple genres, including drama, action, thriller, and comedy.

Furie has directed several films, such as "The Lawyer," "Direct Action," "A Dangerous Age," "A Cool Sound from Hell," "The Snake Woman," "Gable and Lombard," "Doctor Blood's Coffin," "The Boys in Company C," "During One Night," and "Sheila Levine Is Dead and Living in New York". He directed and authored the films "Iron Eagle" and "Iron Eagle II". Furie was also the director of "The Taking of Beverly Hills" and "The Naked Runner".

Sidney Furie is known for his work on the 1964 film "The Leather Boys" and has received numerous awards throughout his career. He has won the AIC Lifetime Achievement Award, Palme d'Or, Black Movie Awards, BAFTA Award, Golden Raspberry Awards, and Western Heritage Awards.
