Rick Husband

Rick Husband was born on July 12, 1957, in Amarillo, Texas . He held citizenship in the United States and was an astronaut , engineer , and test pilot . Husband received his education at Amarillo High School , Texas Tech University , California State University, Fresno , and the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School .

During his career, Rick Husband received numerous awards and honors, including the US Air Force Command Astronaut Badge , Defense Distinguished Service Medal , Meritorious Service Medal (United States) , Aerial Achievement Medal , and Air Force Commendation Medal . He also received the Congressional Space Medal of Honor , NASA Distinguished Service Medal , NASA Space Flight Medal , National Defense Service Medal , Air Force Longevity Service Award , Air Force Training Ribbon , and multiple NASA Group Achievement Awards .
