Paul Sabatier (chemist)

Paul Sabatier (chemist) was born on November 5, 1854, in Carcassonne, France and passed away on August 14, 1941, in Toulouse. He held French citizenship and was educated at the Polytechnic School. Sabatier had a diverse career as a chemist, poet, and teacher.

Sabatier is known for his work in heterogeneous catalysis, inorganic chemistry, and his notable discovery, the Sabatier reaction. Marcellin Berthelot was his doctoral advisor. Paul Sabatier founded the National Graduate School of Agronomy in Toulouse and was a recipient of several prestigious awards, including the 1912 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and the Davy Medal.
