Pandacoin

Pandacoin (PND) is a cryptocurrency that was developed and launched in 2014 and is primarily obtained by stakeholders through the process of crypto mining. Pandacoin is an independent blockchain with a focus on digitized currency and smart contracts.

Pandacoin was initially launched in 2014 as a Proof-of-Work fork of Dogecoin, which transitioned to Proof-of-Stake. In May of 2021, Pandacoin engaged in a network upgrade that changed the project into a Proof-of-Work, Proof-of-Stake hybrid blockchain.

Proof-of-Work Panacoin can only be obtained through the process of mining. The mining algorithm used for PND is SHA256, which is also used to mine Bitcoin. Due to the hybrid nature of Pandacoin, it can also be purchased through Proof-of-Stake in the Pandacoin network and be held in a wallet to receive rewards for the contribution towards the decentralization of the network.
